Nicole Ari Parker was born in New York City. Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actor. Her most famous role is in the role of Teri an ardent attorney Teri Jospehson, on the Showtime TV series Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe became her stage name upon her marriage. Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an inclination toward acting since when she was a child and won the Best Actress award at the Maryland high school competition. Her career in acting started after she worked in the Washington Ballet Company and theater. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was her debut major role. Movies such as Blue Streak and Boogie Nights Spark came next. She was praised for her performance on Soul Food. Her appearances also appeared in TV series like Second Time Around" and Empire. She was also on stage in several productions early in her career. Parker is a politician, who is also active in the fashion world and acting, is currently married to Boris Kodjoe. The couple have two daughters.

Contractor was born from Mumbai in India she was raised in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She had already experienced numerous travel experiences and different cultures at a very early age. Her education was at a boarding-school in London between the ages of 7 and 9 years. Her family later relocated to London in Toronto, Canada. When she was in Toronto, Contractor excelled in academics and trained as an classical ballerina. In the Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public high school specializing in the arts), Contractor studied both the theatre and dance. Contractor took the decision to study acting more seriously at age of 16, after ten year of dance. After graduating high school, Contractor was awarded a scholarship by The University of Toronto to pursue an undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology. Additionally, she earned a master's degree in Theater. Contractor was a student who'd completed her university degree, went on to audition during an open call for Pericles which was held at the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canadain Canada] and was selected for the part. The play received rave reviews and her performances on the stage in 92 productions. the play was voted"the best show of 2002" by Canadian reviewers in 2002. She was offered the opportunity to join Stratford Conservatory, which is a private institution that accepts just eight men as well as four female students to take a course in traditional theater. Contractor was ecstatically accepted. The actress's spot in the next play season was secured and she was offered the part as Hermia.
