Ashley Monroe

Ashley Monroe is an American country singer and songwriter. Ashley Monroe formed a group called Pistol Annies, with Angaleena presley and Miranda Lambert in 2007, followed by her release of her 2nd album, called Like a Rose. Ashley Monroe holds a position as the Assistant Village Manager for Riverside Illinois. She has 15 years of experience in the public sector that includes five years of stints working in Iowa City. As the Assistant Village Director she is responsible for managing the Community Development and Building Department. The department is responsible for coordinating the grant application process and also completing specific projects. Ashley works to support the village's daily services, and also works with local elected officials. Ashley's past roles included the budgeting and planning of government communications, personnel management as well as collective negotiation. Ashley is also passionate about climate change. Due to her engagement in local and national organisations as well as her work with communities with diverse populations, Ashley has gained an understanding of the many complexities and differences when it comes to the ways public agencies function. Ashley's class focuses on leadership, management and public administration from the point of view of a practicing practitioner.
